Did you know dads aren’t supposed to be happy? Yep. It’s true.
In fact, it’s “impossible for a dad to be happy”.
I just stumbled on a video of 2 guys with a DADs podcast spewing this ridiculous horseshit on a video that went viral with thousands of comments and 11,000+ shares.
My first reaction…
I was waiting for the punchline.
“Are they serious?” They can’t be.
These guys are actually convinced they’re right, and they’re the hosts of a podcast for dads!
I’m not sure what the podcast is called but it should be the Beta Bullshit Podcast.
WTF is happening in their ecochamber of the world where they think that giving their time, attention and being diligent providers to their families in any way “ROBS THEM” of their happiness.
Real men CRAVE this opportunity.
Real men welcome the honor and responsibility of providing, protecting, and sacrificing for their family.
Real men train every day so they are prepared when life gets hard.
Real men wake up with a smile on their face and gratitude in their heart for the OPPORTUNITY to LIVE today.
Real men don’t crave hedonic escapes and instant gratification for “happiness”.
Real men smile when their kids crawl into their beds, knowing they GET to be the safe space for their children.
Real men realize that happiness IS sacrificing for the ones you love. Happiness IS pouring everything you are into what is most important to you. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
Dear Beta hosts…
If life is hard for you.. GOOD.
It’s time to step up.
It’s time to get in shape.
It’s time to stop drowning your inadequacies in escapism.
If happiness to you is beers and escapism…
You haven’t yet become a man.
Gentlemen…
Today is not promised.
Today is not to be taken for granted.
Today WILL be the last time for something in your life.
It may be the last hug. The last time you get to say I love you. The last time you GET to squat.
The last time you GET to sprint. The last time you GET to provide for your family.
If you woke up today…
And you’re healthy.
And your body works.
And you have a phone.
You owe it to yourself to give it your ALL.
The life you crave is hidden in the work you’re avoiding.
Do the work on YOU.
Stop blaming the world.
Wake up, grab your balls, and BE A MAN.
Face your fears.
Say you’re sorry.
Own your own BS.
Love without expectation.
Live from your heart. Not from your trauma
Real men realize that WE CAN HAVE IT ALL.
And we pursue it. But it’s not coming from anyone but you.

PS. If parenting and life is hard for you (I’m there sometimes too – trust me!) start by getting under 10% body fat. Not with drugs or surgery. With effort. That simple metric will make something of you. Ask anyone that’s done it.
Everything in life that now seems hard, will shift.
It’s not about the muscle. It’s the man you’re becoming in the process.
